Basketball Positions - UK

Point Guard (PG)

Player who brings the ball up the floor and directs the offense (Covers guard on defense).

Shooting Guard (SG)

Player who assists point guard in bringing the ball up the floor and is typically a good three point and outside shooter (covers guard on defense).

Small Forward (SF)

player who is positioned near the basket and is typically a good outside shooter, and quick moving towards the basket (covers players near basket on defense).

Power Forward (PF)

player who is positioned near the basket and is typically a strong rebounder and inside shooter (covers players near the basket on defense).

Centre (C)

player who is positioned near the key and is typically strong at making inside power moves and is a good rebounder (cover players around the center of the key on defense).
